Grampian Area AGM is on Sunday 29th January 2012 in the Hopeville Social Club, 34 Harlaw Road, Inverurie. It will be proceeded by a walk starting at 10.30am and there will a soup and sandwich lunch available. This needs to be booked in advance. Following the formal business, Alison Sutherland from the Bailies of Bennachie will speak and also Helen Todd from Ramblers Scotland. |

| 3 November 2011 | You are invited to attend the Ramblers Aberdeen Group Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 9th November 2011 at 7.30pm at Midstocket Church Centre, 35 Midstocket Road. There is a small amount of business to conduct then we are handing over to David Jamison from Craigdon to give us insight into clothing layers, boots and footbeds. He will also take along other items from the shop and deal with any other queries you have on walking/outdoor equipment. As a special offer to all who attend there will be 20% off for one-off purchases made before Christmas at one of Craigdon stores. We will also have delicious sandwiches and liquid refreshment. | |

Craigdon Mountain Sports will be offering a special discount to all local
walking and climbing club members! There will be a massive 20% off full
price items in stock that evening. The usual terms and conditions of course
apply and there are a few products that we are unable to reduce such as
books, maps, gps etc but if anyone one has been thinking about that new
pro-shell jacket or hankering after a hilleberg tent, now's the time! Discounts will be offered on production of a club card . If you would like something put aside until Thursday or if you have any questions then don't hesitate to contact the shop on 01224 624 333. |

| 22 February 2011 | The Royal Scottish Geographical Society Talks Programme will be held in Aberdeen on Monday 28th February with an illustrated public talk by polar adventurer Alex Hibbert entitled The Long Haul: The longest unsupported polar journey in history - presented by Alex Hibbert. On 16th July 2008, Alex Hibbert and his team-mate reached the Arctic coast of Greenland. Starved and dizzy, they had man hauled 430 lb sledges for eighteen weeks across 1374 miles, further than any previous unsupported polar expedition in history. The Long Haul is Alex's story of mental perseverance, physical toil in brutal conditions and teamwork under pressure. A poster is available to view here. An email address has been created to allow Coach Outings to be booked by

To allow the committee to accurately gauge numbers attending any walk please email before the Thursday night prior to the Sunday. If you wish to cancel a booking please do so as early as possible. |
