Please note : all listed walks start at 0900 ,from Stonehaven Leisure Centre Car Park (SLCCP) unless stated otherwise. Walkers wishing to drive direct to Walk start should contact leader in advance

An easy walk around Crathes Castle grounds to start off the year’s programme

Kirkhill Forest.  (os sheet 38)  7 miles – easy/ leisurely – car contribution £3.00  Dep 0930 SLCCP

A waymarked walk in Kirkhill Forest skirting Tyrebagger Hill and Hill of Marcus.

Glen Cat Circular (os sheet 44)  9 miles mod/ strenuous –car contribution £ 3.50 )  Dep 0930 (SLCCP)

Drive to Ballogie, take Glen Cat road to park at 569946 (approx 1 mile),Walk uphill on track past Murley farm, skirting Lamahip hill, down to Forest of Birse road.  Up road and over hill to Glen cat farm. Return along tarmac road.

Inverbervie to Benholm – 6 miles – easy/leisurely – car contribution £2.00 0930 SLCCP

Start at Inverbervie, walk along road and farm tracks to Benholm .Walk down to meet coastal path which is followed back to Inverbervie.

Braes o’Gight  (o s sheet 30 )  8 miles easy / moderate – car contribution £ 4.00  0930 SLCCP

A riverside walk by the Upper Ythan. Start at Methlick, walk through woodland via local viewpoint at Braes o’ Gight to Castle of Gight. Mostly good tracks, steep climb to castle.

Start at Tombae Fm.(433965) S Deeside Rd. Follow track over the hills to the old settlement of Etnach in Glen Tanar. Return via Glen Tanar forest to Deecastle ad start of walk.

Gannoch  via Fungle and Firmounth (os sheet 44)  9.5 miles strenuous – car contribution £3.50  0930 SLCCP

Start at Forest of Birse car park (532906).  Ascend steep track to Gannoch (731m). Follow Firmounth road over Tampie and down to meet the Fungle road which is followed back to Forest of Birse. Great views (weather permitting )

A circular walk on Hill of Fare which rises to the N of Banchory.
