Saturday 17th October

Portmahomack and Tarbat Ness Circular  Rating – easy to moderate

Distance – 9 miles   OS Map 21  946 874 circular

A coastal walk on paths, faint at times.  Bring binoculars to view birds and otters.

Thursday 5th November

The AGM will be held in the Lounge, Elgin Town Hall at 7pm.

There will be a demonstration from a member of St Andrews First Aid, Keith Company.

Bring along a nibble and some tipple.
Sunday 8th November

Chapeltown of Glenlivet to Torrancroy   Rating – moderate  Distance – 8 miles

OS Map 36 and 37     from 242 209 to 335 158

Mainly on tracks and paths, rising steeply to 2,402 feet across the Ladder Hills.

Saturday 28th November

East Moniack by Moniack Castle    Rating – moderate    Distance – 11 miles                                     

OS Map 26           from 560 431 to 561 330

Start at Inchmore, with a short steep climb at the beginning, ending at the Clansman Hotel.

Sunday 13th December

Christmas Walk and Lunch       Rating – easy    Distance – 5-6 miles   

OS Map 29            579 327 circular

Starting at the car park at Gartly moor and following forestry road on a circular walk through Gartly forest.  This will be followed by lunch at the Huntly Castle House Hotel.

Boxing Day Walk - Roseisle          Rating – easy

Meet at Roseisle picnic area at 10.00am, bring friends and family, own transport required.

Ben Aigen      Rating – moderate   Distance – 7-8 miles

From car park, over Knock More to the top of Ben Aigen, then via the Speyside Way to Craigellachie.

Sunday 31st January

The Convals   Rating – moderate   Distance – 5.5-6 miles                                  

OS Map 28         from 298 365 to 268 428

Mainly on tracks, start at the quarry, then over the top of the Convals then via Speyside Way to Aberlour.  Steep at the start, then downhill and up again.

Hopeman to Findhorn    Rating – moderate    Distance – 10 miles

A lovely scenic coastal walk, along paths and tracks.

Sunday 14th March

Ballindalloch to Glenlivet Distillery via Hill of Deskie    Rating – moderate 

Distance – 8-9 miles      OS Maps 28 and 36          from 190 340 to 190 290

A walk along the Speyside Way, from Mill of Tommore, to Glenlivet distillery, via Hill of Deskie, gaining a height of 408 metres.

Saturday 3rd April

Moy to Inverness          Rating – moderate  Distance – 10 miles

OS Map 26 and 27     from 770 341 to 681 431

A mainly level route but some uphill, along General Wade’s military road, over open moorland followed by good forest tracks and paths.  Excellent views over Inverness and the Black Isle on the gradual descent.
